Construct

Constructs are unique, sentient beings brought into existence by mortal creators. They are intricately crafted with a specific purpose in mind, often embedded with a set of pre-defined tasks and objectives. These beings are characterized by their limited free will, designed to function within the boundaries of their intended roles. While there are cases where constructs exhibit greater autonomy, these instances are typically regarded as anomalies or byproducts of unforeseen magical interactions during their creation.

The essence of a construct is bound by enchantments, which act as a framework for their actions and behaviors. This magical programming is usually confined to a series of instructions, aligning the construct’s existence with its creator’s intentions. As a result, their behavior and thought processes are often predictable and focused solely on the tasks for which they were created.

Despite their sentient nature, constructs do not experience life and death as organic beings do. They possess a form of immortality, but it is tied intrinsically to their purpose. Once their designated role is fulfilled or becomes obsolete, constructs tend to enter a state of dormancy. Over time, these dormant constructs can be mistaken for mere statues, as they lose the animating spark that once defined their existence. This state of dormancy often leads to constructs being forgotten, left to stand as silent, unmoving relics of their former purpose.
