FAE Realms

The Far Away Ethereal Realms

Fairy

Fairies, as a race, tend toward petite statures and delicate frames, typically standing between three and five feet tall and weighing only fifty to eighty pounds. Although physically slight, they move with a surprisingly graceful, almost ethereal air. Hair color is often vibrant, a trait passed down from the father’s lineage, while their skin tones—though capable of a faint, otherworldly glow—are more subdued and reminiscent of the muted shades seen in larger humanoids.

Societally, fairies are shaped by a pronounced gender imbalance: on average, only one out of every four fairies is male. Polygamy naturally evolved as a cultural norm, with a broad, inclusive understanding of “family.” Far from being strictly blood relations, a fairy’s family is often defined by closeness, shared experiences, and emotional bonds. As a result, fairy youth are known for playful mischief and pranks, but these acts are considered affectionate gestures—playful demonstrations of fondness. In fairy culture, to be teased by a young fairy is an unmistakable sign that you are welcomed into their extended circle of family and friends.
